Google Enhances NotebookLM with Custom Audio Overviews and Business Version

Google has announced significant updates to its AI-powered tool, NotebookLM, introducing customizable audio overviews and unveiling a new business-oriented version. According to blog.google, these developments aim to enhance user experience and expand the tool's applicability to organizations.

Customizable Audio Overviews

The latest feature enables users to tailor audio overviews within their notebooks. Users can create a new notebook, add sources, and either generate an automatic audio overview or customize it by providing specific instructions to AI hosts. This feature is designed to reflect the uploaded sources and user instructions, offering a personalized discussion rather than a comprehensive analysis.

Introducing NotebookLM Business

In a bid to cater to larger entities, Google has introduced NotebookLM Business, set to be integrated with Google Workspace. This version promises enhanced features tailored for businesses, universities, and other organizations while maintaining a strong focus on data privacy and security. Organizations interested in early access can apply for the NotebookLM Business pilot program, which offers exclusive features, training, and support.

The introduction of NotebookLM Business comes as over 80,000 organizations are already leveraging the tool. Google plans to reveal more about the general availability and pricing of this version later in the year. Until then, organizations can continue utilizing the free version of NotebookLM.

These updates underscore Google's commitment to evolving its AI tools to meet diverse user needs, from individual customization to organizational scalability.
