Ripple CEO Brad Garlinghouse recently announced that his company is contributing another sum to the pro-crypto political action committee (PAC). Garlinghouse elaborated on the reason for this move as the crypto community prepares for the 2026 mid-term elections.
Ripple Contributes $25 Million To Fairshake
In an X post, Brad Garlinghouse revealed that his firm is contributing another $25 million to Fairshake. This came as he described the PAC as the “most successful multi-candidate, bipartisan Super PAC in American history.”
The Ripple CEO added that electing pro-crypto, pro-growth, and pro-innovation candidates is a no-brainer, which is why they were making this contribution to Fairshake to continue the momentum that the PAC has established.
Indeed, the pro-crypto PAC is currently enjoying massive momentum following the just concluded US elections. Fairshake spent over $130 million on more than 50 congressional races, which paid off considering that the US is about to have its most pro-crypto Congress ever.
The most notable of these congressional races in which Fairshake was involved was the Ohio senatorial race between pro-crypto Bernie Moreno and anti-crypto Sherrod Brown, in which the former came from behind to claim victory.
Meanwhile, it is worth mentioning that Ripple played a huge role in these as they donated $25 million to Fairshake earlier in the year. Back then, the crypto firm explained that the contribution was “part of an industry-wide effort to advance policies that support the next generation of financial innovation in the U.S.” The crypto firm had also donated $25 million to the PAC in 2023.
Ripple has undoubtedly been and will likely continue to be one of the major beneficiaries of pro-crypto candidates, including President-elect Donald Trump, coasting to victory in these elections. As such, it is understandable that the crypto firm will want to continue to ride this wave ahead of the 2026 mid-term elections.
The crypto firm is already making moves ahead of the incoming pro-crypto administration as they recently announced the first tokenized money market fund on the XRP Ledger (XRPL).
Stuart Alderoty Comments On Recent Donation
In an X post, Ripple’s Chief Legal Officer (CLO) Stuart Alderoty also reacted to Garlinghouse’s announcement of the firm’s contribution to Fairshake. He highlighted how the crypto firm has committed to being a top-tier supporter since Fairshake started, as they are making their third donation in as many years.
The Ripple CLO added that innovation is here to stay and that crypto will remain a strong force in DC for years to come. Indeed, that could be the case starting with the Donald Trump administration, which is reportedly planning to create the first-ever White House crypto role.
Cardano Founder Charles Hoskinson has endorsed Coinbase CEO Brian Armstrong for this role. Brad Garlinghouse has also come up as potential candidate for the crypto Czar role.
